Most recently, John served as co-chair for the 2003 Public Relations Society of America International Conference.

The only professional in the region to earn accreditation from both the International Association of Business Communicators and the Public Relations Society of America, John founded the agency in 1996 after leadership positions with The Mayor’s Office and Loyola University.

Jeffrey Ory, ABC, APR

Jeffrey is the 2003 president of IABC New Orleans and has been singled out by New Orleans CityBusiness for their Power Generation and by Gambit Weekly for its “40 Under 40” list of the region’s “finest and most accomplished citizens.”

Jeffrey’s media relations expertise includes coordinating features in a broad range of targeted national publications, such as The Wall Street Journal, Success Magazine, Drug Topics, Physician’s Financial News, Managed Healthcare News, Contract Design, Interior Design Magazine and National Hotel Executive.

In 2000, Jeffrey was awarded “Member of the Year” by IABC/New Orleans for his significant contributions of time and talent on behalf of the organization and communication profession.

Lisa  Fedele

Lisa Fedele joined Deveney Communication in April 2007, bringing extensive knowledge of web design, visual communication and internet marketing to the team.

In her role at Deveney Communication, Lisa specializes in strategic planning and project management. She is also responsible for overseeing internet development projects for various clients.

Currently, Lisa concentrates her efforts on work for the LSU Healthcare Services Division, the Louisiana Office of Tourism, Arxcel, Touro Joint Replacement Center and Ruth's Chris Steak House.

Lindsay Glatz

Lindsay brings a versatile background in public relations to the Deveney Communication team. She has developed comprehensive branding campaigns, created promotion and marketing plans and managed the development and fundraising proposal for a multi-million dollar university building.

Lindsay’s past industry experience includes organizing the Elliot Masie International E-Learning Conference in Dublin, Ireland for SmartForce, the global leader of e-learning software products for business and information technology professionals. She also brings her strength in graphic design to the firm.

She graduated from Kansas State University with dean’s list honors and a BS in mass communications and journalism with a public relations emphasis and a minor in leadership studies.

Ashley  Owens

Prior to joining Deveney Communication, Ashley Owens worked in public relations and public affairs in Washington, D.C. While in D.C., Ashley worked at two of the largest public relations firms in the country as well as a national professional society.

Most recently, Ashley was the Public Relations Manager for the American Society of Landscape Architects. She was responsible for all national media outreach and managed the grassroots PR efforts for individual chapters. She was responsible for handling the media relations efforts for the Society’s green roof demonstration project launch and worked with environmental media nationwide during the effort. She secured coverage for the project with the Associated Press, CNN, The Washington Post, USA Today, Chicago Tribune, MSNBC and much more. In addition, she provided public relations counsel to the Board of Directors and the Executive Council of the Society.

Ashley also worked at Edelman Public Relations Worldwide as an Account Supervisor on the Healthcare Public Affairs team. She managed the Amgen and Pfizer Health Solutions accounts. She also played an integral role on the Pfizer Tobacco Dependence account, promoting a number of public affairs initiatives in support of Nicorette. In addition to day-to-day account management, Ashley was a primary liaison with her clients’ lobbyists, developing materials for outreach on Capitol Hill and playing a primary role in message development. She was also responsible for national media outreach, securing editorial boards with outlets such as the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times, and with think tanks such as the American Enterprise Institute.

While at Porter Novelli, Ashley worked in the public affairs practice for the American Forest and Paper Association, the Chlorine Chemistry Council and the National Women’s Health Information Center. Ashley has also provided public relations counsel at agencies in South Carolina, working for a variety of clients, including Shell Oil, the South Carolina Department of Revenue (a statewide campaign), Palmetto Pride (Keep S.C. Beautiful campaign), Holland Co. LLP and the National Institute for Learning Disabilities.

Ashley holds a Masters in Mass Communications from the University of South Carolina.

Chris Costello

Chris' varied interests add a unique aspect to Deveney Communication. Heading uptechnology and new media services, Chris blends his thorough understanding ofcomputer systems and networking with his programming abilities to provide custom solutions that maximize efficiency and effectiveness for our clients.

His knowledge allows clients to tap into technology to better reach their goals and objectives, keeping them a step ahead of their competition. While he may often work behind the scenes, Chris' achievements are highly visible on the firm s Web site as well as Web-based client projects.

Most notably he developed an online RSVP system that integrates current Web technology with contact databases. This provided an easy and effective way to keep nearly 1,000 invitations for our Sexagesimus celebration, simultaneously updating our records. The invitation, with an e-based RSVP, has received international recognition.

Anna Whitlow

Anna Whitlow brings a diverse and international background in public relations to the Deveney team. She has created comprehensive promotional marketing plans, developed and maintained strategic alliances between corporations and non-profits and spearheaded media relations efforts.

Prior to joining Deveney, Anna worked at Cone, Inc. in Boston, Massachusetts as a member of the Cause-Branding team. She worked in the creation and implementation of cause programs for General Mills Box Tops for Education, The National Osteoporosis Foundation and L’Oreal.

Her love of music led to work both domestically, at Infectious Publicity in New Orleans, and internationally, at Warner Brothers Records in London. In her music promotion work, she has successfully placed stories in Gambit Weekly, The Times Picayune and Heat Magazine (UK).

She graduated in 2006 from Boston University’s College of Communication with a BS in Communication with a Public Relations emphasis and a liberal arts concentration in American History.

Joel Mandina

After Hurricane Katrina, Mandina capitalized on his relationship with the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and was recruited to Mullen, a top twenty full-service agency in Boston. Some of Mullen’s most prominent clients include the U.S. Department of Defense, Olympic cameras (including the title sponsorship of New York Fashion Week) and the Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism.

Upon his return from Boston, Mandina began writing for the “Inside/Out” section of The Times-Picayune and traveled to places including the Netherlands, Spain and the United Arab Emirates.

Mandina began his career as a public relations coordinator at Keating Magee where he worked on such local names as New Orleans Fine Hotels, the House of Blues, Churchill Downs and Galatoire’s. He also helped to create the now-annual, Christmas-time Lighting of Canal St.

Mandina brings his valuable public relations background to clients such as Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Ralph Brennan Restaurant Group, The Louisiana Cultural Economy Foundation, Planet Beach and Touro Infirmary. He is a 2004 graduate of Loyola University New Orleans where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in history and mass communication with an emphasis in public relations.

Melissa Lee, APR

Melissa Lee, APR, brings extensive senior-level communication experience to the Deveney team. She spent 10 years in broadcast journalism as a reporter, anchor, and producer and has a journalist’s “eye for news,” which yields effective results in media relations campaigns.

For the past 10 years, Melissa has served as director of public relations at the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas and Entergy IMAX® Theatre. She has successfully placed interviews in media around the world including the BBC, CNN, The Today Show, Good Morning America, National Geographic, and scores of other media outlets, generating millions of dollars of news coverage.

An accredited member of the public relations profession, Melissa has served in several leadership capacities in the New Orleans chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.

Annie Schroeder

Annie Schroeder, with over 26 years of experience, is the newest member of the Deveney Communication team. Annie comes to Deveney after spending ten years directing the public relations and marketing efforts for the New Orleans Museum of Art.

Following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Annie directed and maintained communications with hundreds of national, regional and local reporters such as Associated Press, New York Times, LA Times, and Newsweek.

Some of her successes in building partnerships between the cultural and corporate community include Ford Motor Company, Phillip Morris, Sara Lee, Time-Warner, Twinning Tea, Seagram’s and Tabasco.
