Kirby Messinger is responsible for the overall traffic management of Deveney Communication, including coordinating and tracking the schedule, activities and project responsibilities for the team of integrated communication professionals. She brings a unique perspective to the role given her extensive experience in marketing communications, business development, writing, editing, graphic design, admissions recruitment and office administration.
Prior to joining Deveney, Kirby managed communication and marketing efforts for engineering, land surveying and construction management companies, including Wink Companies, LLC and Boh Bros. Construction Company. In addition, she was the Director of Public Relations and Marketing for De La Salle High School where she handled all marketing and communication efforts before and following Hurricane Katrina and assisted with the school being the first high school to reopen in Orleans Parish after the devastation of the storm. Her efforts of De La Salle’s behalf lead to national coverage of the school in The New York Times and the Associated Press among others.
She is a graduate of Loyola University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations. While at Loyola, she was an active member Public Relations Student Society of America. She also was a member of the first-place, national winning student team for Loyola’s “Check Out Your Ethics” Bateman Competition Team. The Bateman Competition is a national, highly competitive case study competition to allow colleges with special focus on public relations and communications an opportunity to exercise the analytical skills and mature judgment required for public relations problem-solving.
