The first steps toward communication success is strategic analysis and planning. Deveney Communication’s finely tuned COMPASS™ (Communication, Planning, Analysis + Strategy = Solutions) system maximizes the strategic analysis and planning system to provide each client with a customized foundation for success. Strategic analysis starts with research and clearly defining an organization’s challenges and opportunities. Planning directs available resources as efficiently and effectively as possible. We have used this system for plans for healthcare systems, governmental agencies and leaders with dozens of facilities spread apart geographically.
Crisis Response
Deveney Communication’s TARPD (team identify/train, assess short/long-term ramifications, respond quickly and honestly, provide guidance to constituents, direct media requests) system is a completely customized and immersive response to a crisis situation. The TARPD™ system has managed crises for hospitals, small-businesses, state and federal organizations. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, TARPD™ supported New Orleans Metropolitan Convention and Visitors Bureau’s nationwide response. Louisiana Office of Tourism also relied on the system for its response to Hurricane Katrina, and when the oil spill coverage began to pollute perceptions of Louisiana tourism, the Louisiana Office of Tourism requested Deveney Communication lead the response to the BP Oil Spill.
Research
Primary and secondary research are the most effective ways to learn the basics. In particular, research can often confirm what you already know, but did not have the facts to support your observations, and is the cornerstone for sound marketing, advertising and public relations decision making. Research allows us to reduce risk, such as confirming that we are spending money in the right places, discover opportunities, uncovering target audiences that we never thought of, and improve business results.

Community Relations
Public perception drives business success, and Deveney Communication uses community relations to achieve business goals. Community relations tactics are used to position clients as leaders within their industry and the communities they operate. This involves facilitating partnerships and alliances with businesses, government and community organizations to strengthen a client’s position. It also entails capturing broad-based public understanding and support by researching opinions and then carefully crafting strategies that reinforce or change public perceptions.
Internet Marketing
We launch and leverage Web sites and Internet strategies for private, government and nonprofit organizations, including chat tours, article syndication, e-marketing campaigns, direct e-mail and Internet media relations. Deveney Communication uses the Internet to capture narrowly defined targets through relevant messaging and integrates online tactics with offline efforts.

Deveney Communication specializes in creating strategic events with strong media relations capabilities. With a focus in event marketing, corporate events, press events, theme parties and awards galas, we have coordinated production, entertainment, catering, venue and other aspects of planning for events located throughout the country. Deveney Communication has coordinated large- and small-scale events, product launches for a variety of clients and charitable events including auctions and fundraising galas.
