The Deveney Associates Program is a study in opportunity. It offers undergraduates the chance to get inside a working communication organization and to work on actual projects for actual clients. It’s the kind of experience you can acquire only at the point where theory meets reality. The quality of the experience is available to you only at Deveney Communication.
What are the necessary skills?
Applicants should have majored in Public Relations, Communication, Journalism, Marketing or another relevant subject area. In addition, each candidate should be innovative, organized and enthusiastic, as well as possess relevant skills including: extensive writing and editing ability, capable oral communication skills, critical thinking.
When does each term begin/end?
Spring: January-April
Summer: May-August
Fall: August-December
How many hours are participants expected to work?
Scheduling is flexible, although, interns are asked to work an average of 20 hours/week. Recommended schedules should favor larger blocks of time rather than a few hours.
Does the program offer compensation?
The position is unpaid; however, students may apply for course credit.
