NO/AIDS Task Force

The Case

NO/AIDS Task Force is a nonprofit group providing services to people affected by HIV and AIDS. The organization needed an annual report, but had no funding whatsoever. With so many nonprofit groups and causes vying for contributions, we recognized that NO/AIDS needed this piece to inspire donors, supporters and volunteers from a variety of audiences and sources. What began as a simple annual report evolved with our guidance to a campaign to reposition NO/AIDS as the flagship AIDS service provider in the Gulf South region.

The Strategy

We created a versatile publication that could be used as an annual report, as well as a carrier for grant, foundation and major gift appeals, or a viewbook. And, it can be used for all these purposes for the next three years by inserting updated financial information or personalized letters (on specially designed stationery) in the back pocket. It also addresses the misperceptions through compelling facts that provide an accurate representation of NO/AIDS.

The Results

The NO/AIDS Task Force Handbook has won international acclaim for the strength of its research, planning, strategy, implementation and results. It has received two prestigious international Gold Quill awards; the Jake Wittmer Award for Research Excellence; four Silver Quill awards; a PRSA Best of Category/Award of Excellence; three Bronze Quill Awards; a Communicator’s Excellence Award; a Summit Creative Silver Award; and has been recognized by the Business Marketing Association and American Institution of Graphic Arts, the professional organization of designers and graphic artists.
